For one day only - Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Ellis County will pay for residents to dispose of trash, furniture, mattresses, yard debris, passenger tires, metal and e-waste along with other similar items.
TO PARTICIPATE, YOU WILL NEED TO OBTAIN A VOUCHER PRIOR TO THE EVENT. Each voucher is good for 3 cubic yards (or one pick-up truck load) of material. A maximum of two (2) vouchers will be given per participant. If more than this limit is brought in, you will be charged at the "County" rate of $7.50 per cubic yard.
There is a limited number of vouchers to distribute: starting on August 18th vouchers will be issued on a FIRST COME...FIRST SERVE basis.

This event will run simultaneously at two landfill sites: EDC Landfill on I-45 between Palmer and Ennis and at CSC Landfill on Republic Way in Avalon.
FAQ: 1) Passenger tires without rims - maximun of 10 - NO tractor tires. 2) E-waste items accepted include personal computers, laptops & notebooks, keyboards, mice, cell phones, video game equipment and more. 3) Latex paint is OK as long as you fill up the unused portion of the can with kitty litter to soak up the liquid and put the lid back on can securely. 4) No freon, chemicals or other liquids.
