ARTICLE 10.300 UNIFORM ACT AND STATE MOTOR VEHICLE LAWS ADOPTED



For the purposes of regulating traffic on the streets, alleys and thoroughfares of the City of Oak Leaf, there is hereby adopted the State Uniform Act Regulating Traffic on Highways, codified as Article 6071d, Vernon’s Annotated Civil Statutes, as amended March 1, 1990 and as amended in the future, and all other state motor vehicle laws, which act and laws, including but not limited to Article 6687(b) entitled “Drivers, Chauffeur’s and Operator’s Licenses; Accident Reports and 6701(h) entitled “Safety Responsibility Law,” both Vernon’s Annotated Civil Statutes, as existing on March 1, l990 or as thereafter amended, which acts and laws, either existing on March 1, 1990 or thereafter enacted or amended, together with the provisions contained in this chapter, shall be controlling in the regulation of traffic, motor vehicles and operators of motor vehicles in the city. Any amendments to any of said state acts or laws shall be effective in the City of Oak Leaf upon the effective date of such amendment but no amendment shall affect any violation arising prior to the effective date of such amendment. A violation of any of said acts, said state motor vehicle laws, or the provisions contained in this chapter for which the municipal court has jurisdiction shall constitute and be punishable as a violation of this Code of Ordinances. Each such violation shall constitute a separate offense.
