My husband and I are signed up with the Ellis County Honor Flight program and are looking for World War II veterans to take to Washington, DC, to see their memorials.Β The trip for veterans is 100% paid for by donations.Β WWII vets are in their mid-80s to early 90s and weβre having a hard time finding those that are healthy enough to make the trip.Β Any WWII vet that either lived in Ellis County when they went into the service or that now live in Ellis County are given first preference.Β Any that have relatives living in Ellis County are given second preference.Β If the flight doesnβt fill up with Ellis County vets, then applications will be taken from those living elsewhere.Β Please take a look at www.elliscountyhonorflight.org β the program is fantastic and we are extremely excited to be guardians for the upcoming flight.Β If you know anyone that would qualify for this trip of a lifetime, please let them know about the program and give them the website info.Β If youβd rather, just give me their contact info and Iβll be glad to call them.Β This program probably wonβt exist in a couple of years because the vets are dying off.Β Β Any help you might offer in locating veterans would be appreciated β it would be such a privilege to escort them to Washington to see the memorials dedicated in their honor.Β Thank you,Lou Jameson
